The City of Koronadal Water District (CKWD) celebrated the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) on September 25, 2020 with this year’s theme “Philippine Civil Service @120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation“ through a simple and memorable activities. Being committed in providing safe and healthy environment for our concessionaires and employees and to reduce risks on Covid-19 transmission its management and staff conducted a Clean-up Drive Activity. Since environmental surfaces are more likely to be contaminated with the COVID-19 virus it was properly cleaned and disinfected to prevent further transmission. Cleaning helps to remove pathogens or significantly reduce their load on contaminated surfaces and is an essential first step in any disinfection process.
The PCSA is an annual celebration to commemorate the establishment of the civil service in the country. It is celebrated every month of September and this year’s theme is about underscoring the use of emerging technologies in the pursuit of efficient public service delivery in the Philippine government, especially in the context of emergency situations.
In this challenging time the government agencies should learn from the lessons and challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the age of technology, public service has to remain competitive and responsive enough to meet the evolving needs of its clientele. New ways of interaction and alternative work arrangements was highlighted and applied during the pandemic, which brought changes at work, government transactions and other processes.
