CKWD was created through the initiative and determination of then Mayor Ismael D. Sueno to provide water to the residents of then Municipality of Koronadal. Hence, in consonance with the mandate of Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973 (PD 198), Koronadal Water District was established by virtue of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution No. 92 series of 1980 of the Municipality of Koronadal. The LWUA issued the Conditional Certificate of Conformance No. 156 to the KWD on July 17, 1981 after complying with the agreed requirements.

Over the years, the City of Koronadal Water District has revolved and growing from Small category to average, average to medium, and successfully at a Category C at the present; with about 100 hardworking employees and 10,200 service connections in the city. This year, we celebrate our 32nd anniversary with a range of activities that focus on the continuing service expansion and reaching every home in Koronadal.

The highlight of the anniversary will be the Blessing and Inauguration of the “Evangeline A. Ang Pumping Station” at Purok Bagong Silang, Brgy. Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal. With the continuous strong support from the LWUA and the City Government ofKoronadal, more development programs and projects shall be implemented within the next few years and more barangays and people will be served soon steadfastly; fulfilling its commitment to provide safe, reliable and potable water which is a right to everyone.
